Citizen Verizon
Across the communities we serve, V Teamers are engaged in supporting neighbors and building community capacity. They give generously of their time, talent and financial resources to nonprofit organizations.
Here are some ways you can get involved.
VtoV Employee Relief Fund
The VtoV Employee Relief Fund is our internal public charity funded by donations from V Teamers. When employees are unable to access or live in their primary residence due to a natural disaster or fire or as a result of domestic violence, VtoV provides approved applicants with grants for qualified personal expenses, including food, shelter and clothing.
Matching incentive program
Through the matching incentive program, the Verizon Foundation matches your personal donations to eligible charitable organizations and schools. Verizon will match up to $6,000 per eligible employee during each calendar year:
- Donations in an aggregate amount up to $1,000 to eligible organizations and schools
- Donations in an aggregate amount up to $5,000 to eligible higher education organizations
Volunteerism
Verizon offers many volunteer opportunities that allow you to give back, take part in events based on your interests, and participate in team experiences as we work to reach our goal of 2.5 million volunteer hours by 2025.
Green Team
As a Verizon employee, you play a critical role in the success of the company’s environmental initiatives. When you join the Green Team, you’ll receive the VZ Green Insider, a newsletter focused on sustainability and how we’re going green. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in events to benefit the environment in your local area.
Employee resource groups (ERGs)
ERGs are our ambassadors of diversity, equity and inclusion. By embracing and celebrating employees whose diversity reflects that of our customer base, we support each other and become a company that is better able to recognize and address our customers’ varied needs.
While each ERG has its unique mission, they all work toward our common objectives, which we call the four C’s: career, customer, community and culture.
We’re dedicated to economic, environmental and social advancement. And to help achieve it, we’ve committed $3 billion to help those who need it most. We’ve also set a goal of volunteering 2.5 million hours by 2025 with a focus on three pillars that are good for society: digital inclusion, climate protection and human prosperity.
